I'm in the middle of one of the most complex work situations ever, I think.

A mess has been created by double booking classes in facilities that I manage. This has caused multiple people to get caught in the fray and some people are exposed due to their making mistakes, or feeling like they are going to be victimized by the mistake.

Suffice it to say, I am surrounded by a myriad of different emotions coming from different people as a result of this and I'm navigating through this confusion by communicating and supporting and assisting however I can.

I'm surprised at how agile I've been handling this whole situation. Keeping in mind the emotions and ego of each person that I'm working with, while skating through the complex unresolved issue (as of yet).

Feeling pretty proud of myself.

Nice job, Magellan!! You should be proud of yourself for maneuvering through the maze of multiple human egos and emotions, ....and remaining calm. My hat is off to you, guy.

It's a good feeling, isn't it? What do you attribute it to? I've been in similar situations at work, and the usual saving grace for me is realizing (1) I didn't create the mess so I am not responsible for it, but even more (2) having the emotional liberty that brings - knowing I may be the best person to fix it precisely because I have no emotional investment. Not feeling you have to buy into everyone else's crazy can be a wonderfully effective platform from which to operate.

Thanks, you guys smile

I'm feeling good about how I've handled this. I was able to manage this! I was able to understand the emotions everyone was having, and respond in an intelligent and meaningful way, without having any anxiety about it.

This is a rather important experience for me to have; as I grew up feeling like I was autistic or retarded. That feeling was mired in the CSA symptoms of worthlessness as well.

This experience feels like a gift.
