I didn't face this stuff directly until I was in my 30s. I "dealt" with it from the time it happened at age 13...until I actually looked at it directly and began this phase of recovery. Take your time. Share as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
Healing is the continued work you do to function at a level above and beyond where you are now. What this means is that it is an continual process where you manage the condition like you would diabetes or hypertension. Eventually, the hope is you---and the rest of us are operating at a level above the point where you were when you decided "enough is enough." Expect ups and downs, quantum leaps, and plodding progress---sometimes within the same week or day. Watch for a while and jump in when you are ready.
