This may seem like a strange question, but I remember loads of nosebleeds as a kid, constantly. I know it could be anything, but I had no medical reason for them. They stopped when I was in my later teens.

Anyone else? Is it linked or is it just one them things?

BINGO. Me too.

No medical reason ever given, but I had disastrous nosebleeds in elementary school, post-abuse.

Thoughts? Reasons? Correlations? No clue.

Bingo here, too. Same ages. All the time. I just thought everyone got nosebleeds all the time.

i didn't have nosebleeds very often - but lots of other unexplained little maladies - not serious but bothersome. rashes, headaches, stomach aches, other pains, etc. some were ignored and for others i was taken to a doctor. it was all inconclusive.

I had a lot of nosebleeds as a kid. I figured it was from boxing, which I started training in roughly about the same time as the abuse stuff started. Mostly I'd get nosebleeds at night when I was in bed. Recently I watched this film where this abused kid had a lot of nosebleeds. I know it was just made up but maybe that part is based on some kind of reality? Who knows.

I have had nosebleeds without any apparent reason with sporadic occurrence even during high school and college.
I almost forgot how I was always expecting to happen and was thinking if I have handkerchief and where is toilette to be prepared.
Now if I have cold and my nose is runny for days sporadically I could see just small drop of blood while blowing my nose and there is nothing more, it never repeated full nosebleed and I wonder how it that possible...

I can't remember well but somewhere I read nosebleeds are connected to balance of iron and vitamin C in our organism.

Maybe being in a state of perpetual fight-or-flight panic dries your sinuses out and causes them?

I did a quick google search. There's some chatter on PTSD boards about nosebleeds that might be relevant to us.

For instance, the nose is somewhat of a relief valve for the circulatory system. If you have a blood pressure spike, then that could cause the nosebleed.

I can't remember if my nosebleeds as a kid were triggered by stress or just came out of nowhere... but it also appears that war veterans with PTSD have this issue too.
