Hello All,

i found this list of things that are said to help you in your recovery, if you can give them up. Just an opinion and not a decree, lol. These ideas have been working for me, to the degree that i am able to eliminate or lessen them in my life. It is an ongoing process for me.

http://positivemed.com/2012/08/22/10-things-you-must-give-up/

10 Things You Must Give Up to Move Forward:

1. Letting the opinions of others control your life
2. The shame of past failures
3. Being indecisive about what you want
4. Procrastinating on the goals that matter to you
5. Choosing to do nothing
6. Your need to be right
7. Running from problems that should be fixed
8. Making excuses rather than decisions
9. Overlooking the positive points in your life
10. Not appreciating the present moment

take care my friends

peace

paul smile

So right, Paul... But difficult. Past failures running thru my head seems a constant foe, that I can't slay. Thanks for posting the list!

Mmm, could swear someone was reading a list about me there wink

9. Overlooking the positive points in your life

That's one I'm trying with, I have a lot of positives in respect to family; yet I give them no credit.

1. Letting the opinions of others control your life
2. The shame of past failures
3. Being indecisive about what you want
4. Procrastinating on the goals that matter to you (what goals?)
5. Choosing to do nothing
6. Your need to be right (I don't see it as a need. I just am right)
7. Running from problems that should be fixed (not actually running)
8. Making excuses rather than decisions (I don't make excuses, as far as decisions see 4 & 5)
9. Overlooking the positive points in your life (the few I have)
10. Not appreciating the present moment (hard to appreciate emptyness)

Good list. Worth working on.
