First, I googled "war chalking" which led me to the marks hobos used to identify opportunity and danger....which then led to item 13 from the "Hobo Code" adopted in 1889 at a so-called "National Hobo Convention" in St. Louis.

13. Do not allow other hobos to molest children, expose all molesters to authorities, they are the worst garbage to infest any society.

Will

I never knew hobos could be organized enough to have a convention. It's good to hear that they've taken a stand against child-molesting though. I learned something good today. smile

Yes. The hobos apparently organized enough for a convention of sorts. In 1889 they decided that child molesters were garbage and should be turned in to the authorities.

The hobos for crying out loud!

The likes of Horace Mann, BSA, et.al. didn't quite sign on to such a notion for a long time...

Yes, likely so. This points to this for me:

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that modern day Atlanta hobos aren't organized enough to have one though.

Or the Catholic church.

Sad but mostly true. Peace,

Maybe that's why I've always felt like I'm 3 inches away from saying "fuck it" & becoming a hobo... I can relate to those guys! It's nice to learn something new!!!
