i used to watch him in the UK when i was in my teens. one thing i always loved that he did was these great paintings - really fast on huge surfaces with a big house-paint brush, accompanied by music. it would look like jsut a bunch of random abstract splotches and you wouldn't know what it was until the last minute - and then he'd add a detail or turn it sideways or upside-down and it would all make sense.
this makes me sad. and retro-actively triggered - if that makes sense. like someone i knew and trusted and that didn't harm me - but to find out after the fact that he wasn't as safe and good as i thought. a close call sort of feeling - i've had a couple of those in real life. lee

Rolf Harris taken to hospital after 'chocolate overdose'.
The 85-year-old disgraced children’s entertainer, who is diabetic, has fallen ill after gorging on chocolate and sweets in jail. The convicted paedophile, who he is serving nearly six years for carrying out a string of sex attacks, was taken from Stafford prison to Stafford hospital.
Rolf Harris is being called Willy Wonka by fellow prisoners because he keeps giving them lollies and chocolate bars.
Rolf Harris has handed millions to his family since being warned he faces fresh charges. More charges mean more claims for compensation.
The shamed star is bracing himself for another wave of compensation claims after being questioned about new abuse allegations. Harris was quizzed by police in February of 2015 regarding fresh evidence.
Harris, 85, is serving five years and nine months in Stafford jail for sex attacks on girls as young as eight from 1968 to 1986.
Harris is estimated to have made £15 million during his career as an entertainer, musician, painter and writer but has just resigned as a director of the firm that looks after his fortune.
RHE Investments has about £6 million in stocks and shares on its books. Rolf Harris is still earning £1,300 a DAY from his investments since being jailed for abusing young girls according to recent figures. Harris invested much of his earnings from his career as a TV star, musician and artist. At the time of his sentencing, his companies were worth £8.5 million. New figures suggest his earnings have shot by £290,000. Despite Harris’s downfall, RHE continues to earn interest on over £2 million in cash. The stock-market value of £6 million of shares owned by his firms is still rising.
Compensation claims could see Rolf Harris lose his £11 million fortune. A large chunk of his money is tied up in the £5 million Thames-side home in Bray he owns with his wife. The couple bought the house in 1980 and there is no mortgage outstanding.
The bulk of his assets appeared to be owned through two companies – Rolf Harris Enterprises Ltd and RHE Investments Ltd.
The first company held over £2 million, while RHE had shareholders’ funds of nearly £7 million. Rolf Harris Enterprises is owned by RHEL Holdings, which was set up in January 2012. The holding company is in turn owned by Harris and his wife. Half of RHE is owned by Harris and his wife, while the other half is owned by family trusts. The trusts are likely to be tax efficient structures.
