Maybe it's about your recovery. The diamonds are a valuable part of you that you make no apologies for re-claiming. The "old" part of you thinks you are stealing them because they have been in possession of them for so long, but you got in their faces about it.
When you were "fired," you went outside into a light rain. Water in dreams is always a sign of the unconscious. But here for you, it wasn't a flood or a deep ocean, but just a light rain, just enough for you to know it was there.
The woman who was proud of you -- she is a manifestation of a different part of you. Your feminine side who is proud of you for taking the diamonds.
The act of signing your name, of declaring your identity over and over in the light rain with the diamonds and with the support of a crowd of people, all of whom represent different parts of yourself, is perhaps a great sign of recovery.
Your dream is telling you that you've been fired from the job of being a victim because you took the valuables that belonged to you. Your mind is reinforcing to you, perhaps, that even though "losing your job" might make your life unstable, you are doing the right thing.
