Guitar
Can I hear your song again?
You calm the loudness of the day.
Your gentle notes my soul to mend.
You make all sadness go away.
It matters not what song you sing, joy comes when you play.
And in your notes my mind won’t bend, my thoughts won’t drift away.
Your gentle voice my soul can still, in soft release accept your will.
As the master plays I hear, a quiet message so very clear.
Can I hear your song again? Will you sing for me?
In evenings just to hear your voice, briefly thus set free.
Free to give all cares to you. To refresh, recharge and thus renew.
Free to find a moment there, in comfort safe from any care.
---
I cannot make you sing your song; your voice is not my gift,
but I can listen in my heart and feel my sprit lift.
Such moments far too rare in life, they briefly pass on through.
But in my heat I still can hear this magic gift from you.
Your song is not to far away, it’s held inside you see.
And in the loudness of today it will play again for me.
I know these quiet times of joy will one day come again.
When I will find great comfort there, please sing your song my friend.
