Well I finally got back from my suspension at work and even though I'm trying I'm still making mistakes at work. I am afraid that I'm just incompetent, unable to do any job. Right now, I'm in danger of being fired. When I had my other job I always thought that it was my boss who was incompetent and the bad guy. Turns out it's me. Nothing is different.

I don't know what I'm gonna do if I lose this job.

I'm sitting here and eating poorly hoping that it will make the pain go away.

Jason - have you expressed those fears to your boss? You want to feel good about your job and you want to do better. Maybe if he knows that and if he is smart enough to also appreciate the value of an emotionally dedicated worker, he could be your best ally.

your anxiety is what is talking now - and it is what is causing you to perform below your usual level of competence. if you were not competent for this job they would have let you go already. try to find ways of calming yourself before starting work and whenever you can take a moment while there. arriving a little early will help so you are not rushed. regulate your breathing, close your eyes for a moment and visualize a peaceful scene, tell yourself that you are safe and in control, etc. whatever works for you. you can do this, man!
