I have been dealing with my CSA for over 20 years when a triggering memory opened the flood gates of my abuse at the hands of my older brother. I have been looking for a place where I feel that I'm not alone and I'm glad I found MS.

Joe,

Now you're home. We heal and succeed together here, and we try to catch each other when we falter.

I would write more, but I've been drinking.

Welcome man!

My memories and trauma about abuse by my older brother's friends in his room erupted three plus years ago-

Hold steady
Find ways to be good to yourself
Learn as much as you can about recovery - find allies on your journey.
One day at a time.
Ask for help

I'm glad you found this site- it is a great resource.

Hi Joe,

Welcome to MS. We are men of all ages, all walks of life, with one thing in common: we were all sexually abused at some point in our lives. You will find alot of men's stories here, some like yours, some very different, but the results that we all live with: shame, anger, fear, difficulty with sexuality and relationships, are similar no matter what we've been through.

Keep posting and reading. You'll find alot of support here. Good luck!

Jude

Welcome Joe,

You are not alone here. I, too, was sexually abused by my older brother. And I have been on the path of recovery for 20+ years. But MS is the first and only place that I have felt understood, truly accepted and SAFE - especially in a group of men!

I'm glad you found us!

Max,

Thx man!

For so long I have felt like an alien in a strange world . . . I am so glad that I found my people.

Joe

Welcome--I understand what you are experiencing. Like you there were actions taken against me by others that opened the floodgates. Believing I could control and keep the memories buried. I was wrong on that count. They came back like a vengeance. You have come to a good place--we share, we listen and do not pass judgment--our stories are different but the effects of CSA are similar to many.

Go at your own pace--feel safe. It takes time and it can be a roller coaster of a ride.

There was a book out "Men are from Mars, Woman are from Venus" I always used to wonder what planet survivors were from?

Welcome to the MS planet.
