I was reading articles on Huffington Post and I came across an article discussing the deep Web and how it has child pornography on it and fbi agents cannot do anything about the child pornography sites. I wasn't expecting what the deep Web would be and now I'm feeling frustrated and scared, and idk what to do, I just hate this feeling of helplessness. Plus I have several siblings, the oldest being 9,and I just feel even more sick to my stomach. Does anyone else get triggered by an intense feeling of helplessness? I just hate this feeling that blatant abuse is happening, authorities know about it, but there isn't anything that can be done. It's hard being optimistic with stuff like this happening... I just hate it all!!!

Hey Si,
I can confirm that my the most terrifying triggering feelings are loneliness and helplessness, I'm not sure why is that so but I thin the mostly because I was child when some things happened.
Please be aware that it is not completely true that FBI or others can't do much, some international activities were done recently and many sites were shut down. Some agents were infiltrated into those forums and sites and collected all materials that were exchanging and some children from photos are found and released in different parts of the world.
I don't know for this particular site but let's have some hope.

Pero

Triggering? Seriously yes, all the time it bothers the hell out of me that as I write this children are being tortured all over the world and there is nothing you I or any government agency can do anything about, not a thing; its being going on before the internet and will still be going on after its dead and buried.

Si & Pero the only thing law enforcement can do on deepweb is monitor and act when and if they see any address or phone#; something to tie a crime to a specific place or person, even then in the US they are unable to act immediately as they will need to have a search warrant because without it they will be able to stop this 1 incident of abuse but will be unable to arrest and convict the perp because of the evidence being obtained illegally. As someone who uses deepweb “tor” to conceal my identity online both professionally and personally understand that what we’re talking about here has everything to do about money and people in power; how else can you explain the increasing sophistication of pedo rings globally; years ago these monsters used to use their own routers running their own encryption and authentication; no one would know what was traversing their network, totally out of the reach of law enforcement. Now it’s even easier, they use tor, you don’t have to even buy any equipment just use a software that makes traditional tracking by IP/MAC useless and allows the user total freedom online from any form of tracking or control. Deepweb is the best example of capitalism anywhere; where else can you buy guns, drugs, counterfeit id’s, and anything else you can imagine totally anonymously and no fear of getting caught. Its how groups like Anonymous communicate in total secrecy, its how people like Bradley Manning found the State Department docs on deepweb shot an email to Assange and now sits in the brig. So while deepweb is a source of concern its not the cause or source of the torture that ruins young lives; its why I always thought of stuff like this as almost being part of the government and all, who else could afford to finance something like this? Its why some of the stuff I’ve read here from others about possible links to MK Ultra scare the hell out of me, you can’t fight city hall, let alone some sick twisted part of our shadow government running around abducting, raping, killing our children with impunity, much worse in my mind then just trading pics online even though we all know the pain in the pics, its all just one sick mess, and until we no longer look away, until we no longer blame anyone but the abuser, until we provide 110% support to every victim this will never go away, never! In the US driving drunk used to be ok as long as no one got hurt, today finally its not, so there is hope, just sad that the US media isn’t playing the Penn St. thing up, Sandusky’s in jail Joe Pa’s dead lets burry this thing and play football again? Wtf? What about these young men we know about, what about all those we don’t, who is going to help them who is going to tell them its ok, what about the Governor suing the NCAA to drop the sanctions, wtf, business as usual?

The hacker group Anonymous is working on this problem. If you have any techy or IT experience, you can get on IRC and chat with other "anons" to help address this problem.

They are currently running operations called #OpPedoHunt and #OpPedoChat. If you are on Twitter, you can find twitter accounts discussing these by searching for those hashtags.

Don't feel helpless. Feel angry. And then use that anger to do something about it.

Assuming, of course, that you can stay safe and healthy while fighting it. The internet just gets darker and darker the deeper you go. Pick your battles.

Cant stuff like this really bothers me cause it reeks of government entrapment; the only people who use the internet for anything potentially libelous or criminal are either law enforcement aiming for entrapment or those ignorant enough not to know that everything they do on the internet is viewable by anyone anytime anyplace; SSL/HTTPS just means the data exchanged is encrypted not the IP/MAC. If you’re not using tor or something like it you’re exposing yourself to potentially harmful contact or surveillance. Anonymous’s use of IRC and other clearweb portals is just a ruse to get lots of posers to feign an attack from their real target. To the best of my knowledge no pedo network has been taken down of off tor, its not possible, sometime back they did take a VPN down, but that’s the only episode were law enforcement has acted on anyone using advanced security, and it wasn’t deepweb just a VPN. As to me getting involved personally in something like that just suffice it to say that as a security analyst my involvement in any type of internet hack even the hint of involvement would not only terminate my current position but might put me behind bars; what’s my excuse I didn’t know?

Wow and I thought I knew a lot about the internet. I could've guessed this was happening but I never heard the news until just now. That's scary to say the least. I'm surprised so many people actually know about anonymous as well. I don't know what to say really, but here's something to think about. Sexual abuse doesn't happen on the internet, it happens in real life. And because of that these people can be caught and they can be stopped, they are not invisible or invincible. What's on the internet is only records of what has been done in real life, photos & videos, and even if it's (nearly) untraceable that's still more information than we would gather from a kid who isn't recorded or photographed. Anyone stupid enough to post this stuff on the internet is in more trouble than someone who doesn't. I like to believe humanity is always evolving for the better, and I hope with the future we can expect to see this problem eradicated. Stay hopeful and stay aware.
