Oh, Gary,

i am so, so sorry for your loss - not just your brother's passing - but that he was taken from you so early in life - when you were the one who had most loved and nurtured and given to him. please believe this - that anything good that he was able to accomplish and achieve in his life - including the relationships with his wife and children - are a tribute in large part to the positive input and influence that you gave during his most impressionable years.

i hope that you will not be offended if i paraphrase Jesus - "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s (brother)." though you did not literally sacrifice your life in the sense of dying for him - you did sacrifice in a sense that you did lay down your life in so many ways - and gave up so much for his sake. and your sacrifice, painful though it was - did produce a wonderful life for him. i hope that is some comfort to you.

Lee

Wow... I just don't know what to say. I think that SoccerStar was right on the money with the giving tree comparison. Your story was moving, beyond words.

Oh Gary... I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry!

I can't imagine life without my brother... I don't even want to try to imagine how much it must have hurt when he became a stranger to you. I'm sure you contributed to his ability to have a healthy family life. I'm sure he was less lonely as a child than most of us because he had you to turn to...

I'm so sorry... how inadequate those words are to express my emotions right now!

SO sorry, Gary. have your own memorial ceremony if you feel like it. it is guaranteed to be more honest, heartfelt and authentic than that other one with all the liars and deceivers present.

"laxative for emotions" - i love that! when you do get un-clogged - be prepared for diahrreah! it may be difficult to control.

stay in touch!

I wish i had a brother like you Gary.

i wish it were a better world where none of those things happened.
