Well there's many ideas of what makes a man, but I think they can be categorized as; the societal views of a man and what a man actually is. A lot of the ideals of a man are just stereotypes and "normals" of society. Basically it's a bunch of ideas that are widely agreed upon which give these beliefs a weight on the individual to accept it as a truth, which in many cases it's not.
Liking sports is a stereotype of a man, same with sex. Peeing standing up is just something we do because we can, and having a penis is just a part of being a man.
This is definitely a good topic to bring up because I often wonder about this as well.

Being a man is someone who’s there for people not just the ones they love but for people in need and going out of their way to make the world a better place. I wish I could be 1% of what I wrote, a man not me, I’m not sure if I’ll ever be one, but I’d sure like to think I’m trying? Most of what we think is manly is just societal programing, stuff to make us functional, not anything to do with being a man or more importantly being a good person.

Still by your own admission your endured horrific treatment and remained silent to help others, by any definition of the word you are a Man!

A man follows through with and is good to his word. Actions must back up words. Intent without conviction and deeds is empty promises and unfulfilled pipe dreams. Its not about balls or penis', its about maturity.
So whether we are femmy men or butch boys , it means jackshit. Its our word flowing from intent followed by follow-through. A man has class when he builds up others and is responsible for his responsibilities.
A guy in a dress who is a go to guy is way more of a man than a used car salesman wall street schyster.

Thanks for the comments. I guess what I was getting at is that we spend alot of time here talking about sexual identities: gay, straight, bi-sexual, but what about gender identities? What is it that makes us men?
