Here's another example:

Matthew Taggard, former town of Ulster (Ireland) police chief banned from boy scouts

I have made a statement which I hope will show links between Boy Scout abuse in the U.S.A. and the British pedophile investigations.

Salary of Boy Scout Executive. $1.6 million?

http://taxdollars.ocregister.com/2009/08...top-exec/30227/

Quote:

The Charity Navigator 2009 CEO Compensation Study lists the BSA’s Chief Scout Executive as earning a salary of $1,577,600.

What a shame!

I made a comment about an article on the Boy Scout Perversion Files and my comment was chosen as the "Comment of the Day."
Comment of the Day: Boy Scouts' perversion files aren't complete...

Hi. I am new to this site. Was glad to find this thread. My abuser WAS on that list. I was not expecting to see his name. I am now figuring out what to do with the information. I have been encouraged to come out with my story publically. That is what I am trying to navigate through now. I applaud you all. This is NOT easy. The local paper won't publish his name until they have some sort of legal document. There was never a police report filed.

I am also new to the site. I think it is awesome that you are taking action. It is something that I have always struggled with. I could not find my abusers name on the list.

Drago I just keep paying attention and walking through doors God leads me to. Listening. You have to do whats best for you. This BSA mess will go on for years like with the Catholic Church. You'll tell your story when you are ready. It can be powerful. I feel it is what I must do for my own healing and my hope for helping the other boys/men in my community heal or start to heal. But I can only speak for myself. For me finding his name on the list came with a huge sense of responsibilty. Not for what he did to me, but for what I must do now.

I'm a tad late to the discussion here. I've been in a dark place pretty bad since the list was released. I'm sure (now) I'm not the only one. My research uncovered the following:

- The list (released to the Oregon law firm) was never expected to be complete.
- The bsa explains that they remove names under certian circumstances (i.e. the individual dies)
- The statue of limitations is a State based law. In my case that is RI. For legal action I have 7 years from the date that I became aware of the problems which were caused by the events, or reasonably should have recognized the correlation.

This brings me to my question. I can't decide if I should pursue litigation or not. I think I'll start a new thread dedicated to just that.

Thanks Undefeated for starting this thread!

Afldman pursuing legal action is a tough choice. I have reached out to two law firms. One in Seattle and one in Portland. I can't go after my abuser since Georgia has a similiar SOL as Rhode Island. My understanding is that if you go after the BSA it doesn't matter which state you file given it is a national organization. I don't know that as fact. You have to decide for yourself what your motivation is for going to court. Money or something greater. Good luck with your pursuit. Let me know if you would like to chat more sometime.
