Yes, he's the 2nd prominent Brit to be accused after his death (along with Jimmy Savile)... although he's a liberal MP and not a Tory (although there's certainly enough filth to spread across the political spectrum).
Lord McAlpine, who was named, and then those accusations were "withdrawn" so now he's the "falsely accused" Lord McAlpine -- he's a Tory/conservative MP, so the Sir Cyril connection doesn't seem to fit neatly in the expanding fact pattern in the UK...
But as you say, these things are not in isolation, and news is moving fast these days, so it's hard to say how this might fit into a larger story.
