don't know why i suddenly thought of this book - but i just remembered it - and what an impact it had on me. read it way back when and at the time i wasn't sure why it resonated so much - but now i know. summer camp, misfits and rejects, bullying, the bonding of fellow-victims, crazy impossible inspiring rebellion against injustice... i highly recommend it. here's a link to the novel site if you are interested in knowing more:
