I figure if I don't vote, I don't have any right to gripe. So I voted. if there was a like button i would have liked I feel the same way , I always ask people while they are in the middle of a rant Did you vote ? and 9 times out of 10 they say well no BUT ... uhhhgggg I just wanna slap um lol

Family and Social Services around here are still woefully underfunded and overworked. I understand CSA and other forms of abuse are firstly socio-cultural problems but that doesn't mean political solutions could not mitigate or even one day help largely resolve them. I don't think the Democrats or Republicans should be blamed for a problem that permeates all of human society and generally transcends the political arena. You're right. This is one area that both parties have failed to adequately address. The Republicans are putting on a show here to pretend they're going to do something but Democrats aren't really standing up to them. I never heard back from my state rep - a Democrat - on my issues with the department of child services. It's really everybody's problem because it's everywhere: churches, schools, families, Boy Scouts, etc. yet no serious attempt to address the problem. I thought this apathy could be side-stepped by going straight to the government but they are just as apathetic. I mean, has anyone actually campaigned on child abuse? I'll probably be spending a lot of time beating my head against the proverbial brick wall, but I'm still going to try and reason with my representatives when they reconvene in January. But social attitudes also need to change and I'll try to find ways to work on that as well. Just curious, what does Male Survivor do in the political arena? They have offices in DC I think.

Since I live in a state where the result of the presidential election was not in doubt, I felt liberated to vote for a 3rd party candidate to express my displeasure at the two-party system.
