Did You Vote? Why or Why Not?

Since this is election day in the U.S., I thought about those times I didn't vote simply because I felt too depressed or hopeless.
Rather than a partisan political discussion, I'd like to hear how your decision to vote or not relates to your CSA and/or recovery.

I voted. No connection to my recovery at all.

I usually don't vote. Not sure what I'll do today.

Been too depressed lately to research the local propositions and never registered my new address.
I live in an ultra liberal city (San Francisco), and since my views are in line with much of the rest of the City, I didn't feel the need to expend the extra energy to contribute to the larger society, of which, I often feel like I'm *NOT* a part of. My vote would be inconsequential anyway. If I lived in Ohio, or Florida, however, I would have voted.
First year in years that I didn't vote.
Maybe next time.

If you're in a swing state, please vote. Unless, of course, your views oppose mine. Then don't vote. :P I usually don't vote. Not sure what I'll do today.

i didn't vote this time or the past 2 times.
living overseas, it's more complicated and frustrating. the first time, the absentee ballots arrived after the election was over. next time we didn't bother trying. same thing this year for many who requested them - delivery after the deadline for return.
the US PO is clueless. they will tell you that mail to our area takes 5-7 days. LOL! we have NEVER had anything arrive in less than 2 weeks and usually much longer. once it leaves the US they have no control over the fact that it may sit on a dock or in a warehouse or in a central PO waiting to go to a local one for days, weeks, even months. sometimes we have had mail finally arrive her in Asia after being misdirected from the US to the Caribbean or S. America or Africa. one time while home in the States we went to our local PO to mail something to a friend who lived near us overseas - a place we had just left weeks before. the person behind the counter told us that the address on our package (where we had been living for the past few years) did not exist!
so maybe i don't exist either? lee

Since I brought up the subject...
My participation was because I WASN'T feeling depressed or hopeless. As many of us know, one of the things that goes with depression is the feeling of being overwhelmed and that just dragging your ass out to do something like vote is too damned difficult.
Took four tries with the long lines that I could NOT deal with: two early voting attempts, one when the polls opened, and success - no line - midday.
