Yep, things heterosexual people take for granted are not always available for gays all the time. We have our "pockets" of freedom among some friends and some family members, and even then only sometimes.
But focusing on the positive side, we are part of a group or community of sorts, with the complicity and solidarity that can create. We can say to each other, hey that guy is handsome, of course heterosexuals do that too, and openly, but in our way is fun too.
Just trying to think away from what we do not have and trying to think about what we do have.
