Beauty unseen, flowing from a wound as yet untended
The battle has raged with the soul of a child
Struck down, torn, broken bruised
And yet the strength can only grow, inside this little man.
The darkness, bitter blackness engulfed such a one
Who stoked the light within white hot, to drive away the hurt
So scared and yet so incredibly brave!
Still on the journey though each leg carries
Chains which bind still
Alone by choice, united by design.
And though this one is broken,
Punished for crimes never committed
Though in the mind they play accusing words
And visions continue to haunt with unbelievable clarity
And the beauty remains unseen hidden
By this one, wearing shame as his mask
Hiding himself from the world

Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee. let me then tow to pieces, while still chasing thee, thou damned whale! Thus, I give up the spear!"
Herman Melville
