This may be brutally emotional for many of us, as survivors in recovery can be very much in touch with their softened heart. DON"T WATCH AT WORK just in-case.
If you’re a parent, you probably know that there is a very special toy or blanket you must never, ever lose… So what happens if your kid’s lovey does get lost? Liam’s parents experienced that loss in 2009 and grieved with their son for his best pal—Ah Ah the blue monkey.
But what if you could get that lovey back, almost three years later?
Well, these parents did. Watch this video of Liam getting his Ah-Ah back. We dare you not to cry!

I see the mom in that vid did something my mom would have done. She kept talking and talking and talking, saying things which didn't help Liam but instead validated herself.

I noticed that too. That mother's yapping did NOTHING for Liam. It only served to detract from the moment. No focus on the magic of the moment...just "hear what I did and how ingenious I was and how hard I worked to make this happen."
i had a blond teddy bear that i brought to our new "home" when mom married the step-dad. i have nev er seen another one quite like it. he threw it away. i remembered that when she rubbed the inside of the monkey's ears and said the boy used to do that. i did that too. WTF! here i am sitting in my office crying over a stuffed animal that i lost when i was 5 1/2.

You've outdone yourself Robbie. I won't even dare to watch the vid. Fortunately I still have my first "doggie" who's completely unrecognizable as such, but has been carefully stored for years in a box that's pretty accessable. And, yes, often in my worst moments - don't even have a name I can recall for the little guy - I've brought him back out.
I don't know whether to thank you or not.
