Hi,
For now I'm just going to let you all know me by my screenname hurting&tryingtoheal. I'm 23 yrs old, and I've realized that I have some issues that I have not resolved which I hope to heal from, so that I can one day have a great relationship with a woman I love very much.

Hi davesch, and welcome.
I was the exact same way...I was scared to post anything except the sketchiest of details.
I've been visiting this site for about two months now and am just now getting comfortable here. No hurry, no pressure. Sit back, take it at your own pase. You're among friends here.
Peter

Hi Davesch, Welcome to MS. I am glad you have found this place of healing and support. Everything you say or do here is at your own pace; no pressure, no obligations. At one time choice was taken from you. Here, everything you do is your choice. You do not say whether or not you are in therapy. Therapy is invaluable when it comes to dealing with and getting through this trauma. Take your time and look around. You do not want to trigger yourself by reading too many posts at one time. At your own pace, read the boards and wander into chat. The lounge (chat) is open 24 hours a day though it isn't always populated. We also have moderated chats called Healing Circles. They meet on Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 9pm eastern time and one on Tuesday at 19:00 UTC (European and African time zone) which translates to 2 PM Eastern US time zone. The Healing Circle on Tuesdays is scheduled to resume in September. Again, welcome to MS. Anomalous

Thank you everyone for the welcoming words. I appreciate them, though, this a difficult journey which I'm just starting.
Thank you, davesch
PS Anomalous: I have a few things I'd like to talk to you directly about: 1. I would just like to let you know that I am in therapy and have been seeing the same therapist since I was in 7th grade. 2. I would also like to thank you directly for the healing circles tip. I may use it. 3. I am curious to know what it means to be triggered?

Hey Davesch,
Triggered means that you read or see something that triggers a negative response in your mind. we use that to warn others who may be sensitive to a traumatic or detailed posting, that the post may be triggering.
Glad that you are here and hope you find a lot of useful and supportive experiences.
take care
peace
paul
