I like your signature. Looks like you are well on your way. When you get comfy here you can post your story in the survivors story thread.

Hi B4A,

Welcome to MS.

I am glad you have found this place of healing and support.

You do not state whether or not you are in therapy. If you feel therapy is an option, there are resources available. For help in finding a therapist please read the Consumers Guide to Therapist Shopping. Psychology Today has listings of therapists for all states and counties. You can choose the type of therapist you are seeking as well as the area(s) to which you are willng to travel. Also check your county rape crisis center. They offer services to males and females, at no cost to county residents. Some offer support groups in addition to individual therapy.

Take your time and look around. You do not want to trigger yourself by reading too many posts at one time.

At your own pace, read the boards and wander into chat. The lounge (chat) is open 24 hours a day though it isn't always populated.

We also have moderated chats called Healing Circles. They meet on Sunday and Wednesday evenings at 9pm eastern time and one on Tuesday at 19:00 UTC (European and African time zone) which translates to 2 PM Eastern US time zone. The Healing Circle on Tuesdays is scheduled to resume in September.

Again, welcome to MS.

My fraternal brother, wishing you well in healing. You are on your way.

Thanks, Country. I will. It's important for every survivor to speak up and share his story so there is no more silence.

I like the model of recovery referenced in my signature. I'm somewhere between survivor and overcomer. At least, I intend to reach for more overcoming every day.

I am also a Christian. You've got a nice signature, too. Good reminders.

Anomalous,

I am not currently in therapy, but have gone through therapy in the past. This may be more clear once I'm ready to share my story.

I have written a book on CSA, but it is a Young Adult Fiction story. I drew on my experiences, but it is not a memoir. My goal is to get it published so there is a book out there to help those who don't have great home/family supports. I have received requests for partials and fulls on it, but so far, no offer of representation from an agent. I did receive and turn down an offer to publish my book from a small indie press, because it wouldn't land in bookstores or libraries as easily. It would only be available online. But, receiving that did affirm to me that I have a decent story. Someone thought it was worthy of publication.

Thanks for the information on therapy. I appreciate the support.

Blessings!

Also, thanks for the nickname/abbreviation: B4A.

I like it.
