“Look at me while you do it…boy.” “I don’t care if you don’t enjoy!”
“Look so I can see your eyes!” “Look at me and hear more lies!”
Smack! and then my face would sting…my eyes would tear my ears would ring.
Could not get me free from there. Run away? Did not know where…
I was there for him you see, for him alone and not for me.
Did he look? That answer NO! Into my eyes he would not to go.
He only wanted that from me, did not care what I could be. He did not care, he would not see.
As a boy he did this too, so I must look until I’m through.
I existed there for him alone, but in my eyes a light still shone.
He did not care. I was just a boy, someone’s kid they did not enjoy. So I existed for him you see, for him alone and not for me.
Had he looked could he then see, the light of innocence still in me? Had he looked could he then see? The answer NO, it would not be. Was there for him and not for me.
Promised love, it was not there, he gave me fear for me to scare.
Another lie for me to hear, to know my place and make it clear.
He grabs my ears to pull me in, that is how “it” would begin.
---
My counselor now says she can see, the torment there inside of me. She can see into my eyes, and help me now to see the lies.
She sees the light inside of me, into my eyes she can see. My innocence they could not take and chains that she will help me break.
I still have much yet left to do, to make this end and see it through.
When I am done I’ll have new eyes. Must learn now to see the lies.
Now must work to stop the fear, but with new eyes I will see clear.
I will then a hunter be and with new eyes I will see!
A hunter then I will be, and FEAR with “them” and not in me…
