I am a bisexual guy, I was wondering if I was made this way by repressed abuse or another reason, or was I born this way.
What are your thoughts.

Could it perhaps be both or neither and or something else entirely unknown? No one really understands the causality of human sexuality, no matter how much they wish they did. To me, it doesn't really matter why I am the way I am. What matters to me is that I'm comfortable with myself,my desires, and where I've placed my self in terms of a role in society. Thats my 2 cents anyways :P

I wish to be, comfortable with who I am but acceptance has been a hard road.
I have reached the point which I don't care why, but I still have an issue accepting that I like men too

And that is completely understandable to any of us. Things like that don't happen over night to any of us. It takes time for those kinds of things to settle in and allow us to be comfortable in our own skin so to speak. I know in my own sort of coming to terms with me being gay, there were times i was completely disgusted with myself and other people i thought were gay. But if your honest with yourself with what you want, you'll find you more and more comfortable with that part of you. Again, thats my 2 cents.

I'm also very shy but I don't connect it with early abuse. Everyone in my family is very shy (even mother and father). There has been some research on the "shy gene" especially if inherited from both parents. I've struggled with it every day of my life but you learn better coping strategies as you age.

Hank, hang in there. Many of us have questioned our sexuality. All I can say is that each man has his own path to walk when it comes to your own sexual orientation. Don't let anyone else try to put labels on you. The best thing you can do is love yourself for who you are. -RGC
