everyone hanging in there???
tough stuff happening with this case, but i hope these observations reflect some goodness for a change.
i've been monitoring comments and posting remarks as best i can on wsj, nydn, and nytimes. the good news, at least in my view, overwhelming majority of folks seem to finally ''get it.'' but there are still a handful who do not, primarily at the wsj. i have not seen any comment belittling the victims' experiences, which is a vast improvement from how public comment was with the priests abuse cases sometime back.
two main issues that puzzle me still, from that 10% or so who do not understand the issues, their belief that these incidents are isolated and therefore no real repercussions on society as a whole. (i guess we define that as -- sexual abuse only happens to ''someone else'' or to bad kids or to kids without good parents etc.) second issue, although more marginally so, that jerry is really gay, which is why he molested boys -- very longstanding myth.
wishing you all power, strength an resolve!
