Hi Ibcali,
The fear of not being believed is what keeps many of us quiet, sometimes forever.
It is absolutely enrgaging that people can be so narrow minded as to think someone would only say these things for money.
I wonder how many of those "nay sayers" would be doubting the veracity of the statements of these young men, if they were coming from young women, instead.
I have silenced more than a few nay-sayers by asking them that question. Their mouths start opening and closing without them making a sound ... looking like a fish out of water.
Do they say these ignorant things because they do not believe in sexual abuse?
Or are they saying these ignorant things because they do not believe males can be sexually abused?
My guess is the latter.
As anyone who has been sexually abused/ assaulted, regardless of gender, knows, we would rather say that we were, or be anything other than sexually abused.
For males who have been sexually abused/ assaulted, regardless of age, admitting this is much more difficult than it is for women. Due to the myths, stereotypes and accusations that we, too, are abusers, many males never disclose having been abused.
I have never hung out on youtube. Until you posted, I didn't know there was a way to chat/ PM with anyone. But I would like to learn how. I will be more than happy to educate them and let them know how their ignorance is hurting others ... probably someone they know or love.
Anomalous
