while walking my son to the park we stopped to see flowers
being spring time the flowers are digging up
digging up to reach the surface for sunlight and water
for bees to pollinate them
for bees to take pollen from them
My son asked me a very good question
WHY ARE FLOWERS LIKE CHILDREN??
Why would my son ask this
he is only 5
what does he mean?
I couldn't answer him and i felt bad
walking more we stopped at a house with flowers bright
bright with vibrant colors
the sweet smelling flowers of just being planted
or the ones already there before left to regrow
past another house where the flowers were overrun by weeds
the colors not so vibrant
no sweet smells from these flowers
my son stands in between them
he reaches and picks one flower from each house
hands them to me and asks again
WHY ARE FLOWERS LIKE CHILDREN, DADDY??
I knew the answer and how smart he is to ask this
I bent down and kissed his head
headed to sit at the park bench
my answer is this to him
Flowers are like children in this aspect
the vibrant sweet smelling flowers are well taken care of
they are nurtured with the right amount of care
and given the right amount of love and space to grow
The other dull flowers are not well taken care of
abused and left to die alone without care
never nurtured nor loved
Just like children
If a child is given the right amount of love and nurturing and devotion and space then they become vibrant well managed adults
If a child isn't given this they in turn are like the flowers left dull and left there to die, they struggle to live day by day and fight for their color to return
isn't that how flowers are like children??
a 5yr old made his daddy realize this
on a walk to the favorite park he likes to go to
Daddy realized how smart his son was that day
that he is definitely doing something right
his son can compare people to flowers and weeds to fulfill the true meaning of a desperate subject for him
