I did not have an "adoptive" dad but, I had a step-dad who was just like the man in this current article. I have tried not to "post" about the wrongs done to me but, this current event was so compelling. I suffered from addiction, sexual confusion, self-abuse and very low self-esteem just like the survivor/victim in this article. This "stuff" messes up - big time - a persons well-being, even for men. The survivor in this story "suffered" from the affects of the abuse - addiction, self-abuse, and low self-esteem BUT underneath it all - IS THIS AWFUL, ICKY, STUFF. ***** trigger warning***** http://www.startribune.com/local/145251745.htmlThis story speaks to the unthinkable but, the very real trauma of sexual abuse decades ago.

I am with you. When at the age of 42, you wake up in terror believing a man that abused you when you were 8 and who died 16 years ago is now in the house, it does not just go away. Thankfully, this man was punished and the judge saw right through the abuse excuse of Joseph Hunt. She said, correctly, that he had the choice not to in turn abuse another.

"At the end of his statement, Joseph Hunt told his daughters that he would rather have them tell their children that "Papa is dead" than about his abuse of Chad."
How about your child abusing grandfather is dead (to me).

Sounds like Kenneth Parnell's sentence for kidnapping Steven Staynor. Thankfully, this attitude is changing.

...I believe this is the same county that has had a large number of youth suicides due to bullying...
You can't rape a defenseless child and pretend you're some stand-up guy. Wow this pushed my buttons. Yes, it is the same county.... I so agree with your last statement. The law is written so time that one serves in prison is based on any prior committed crimes. For me, this is a two-edged sword. One - So what, if there are any prior crimes having sex with a child is so disgusting (even prisoners dislike criminals who abuse children). Two, prior crimes means a person is really really a criminal as if having sex with only one child is a lesser crime. Anyway, I am upset by this crime as we all are. Avery
