For several weeks now i've been really shaky - both emotionally and physically. I'm jumpy and on edge. But the biggest problem is - my hands especially tremble uncontrollably - sometimes it's hard to keep a cup or glass from spilling.
It's not only embarassing, but makes some of my tasks more difficult - keyboarding is more full of errors, shaving - nicks and cuts, handwriting is hard to read, it's not easy to do anything that takes fine motor coordination. i used to work as an artist and this would make that impossible. fortunately i now am teaching so its not as essential that i have a steady hand - but it is still very inconvenient. I'm sure it is connected to all the emotional/psychological turmoil. I'm not THAT old!
Has anyone else had this experience? how did you handle it? did it pass? how long did it last?
Lee

I don't know Lee. I do that a lot, but that's more physical on my part, or maybe it's the coffee. Still, you may wish to think about getting it checked out if it continues much longer.

Jim, i tried decaf for a few days with no discernable difference.
i was assuming it was all psych-related. scary to think there might be a medical cause. maybe i'll switch to panicking over that!

sometimes don't feel much like eating but my wife takes good care of me and once i start i finish and usually manage to eat enough (even more than enough) that it wouldn't be the cause.

Don't panic, just get really scared. No, just kidding. It may well just be emotional, but might be worth getting a physical. Could be an easy fix. Take care of yourself. You mean to much to me to get sick.

Don't be scared Lee, it can be related to stress, medicine etc. Here is couple lines from one web page, please don't panic about it : "Call your doctor if: Your tremor is worse at rest and gets better with movement, like when you reach for something. Your tremor is prolonged, severe, or interferes with your life. Your tremor occurs with other symptoms, such as headache, weakness, abnormal tongue motion, muscle tightening or contractions, or other movements that you cannot easily control." As your writing is essential to you and as well to some other survivors form MS, please think about medical check. Don't be scared because of that. It is nothing, just regular check... And we all need you capable of writing, so if there is some tool under your arm to make it easy why not try to take it. Please don't panic but think on calling or talking with your doc about it.. ((((Lee))))

Hi Lee,
Been having severe shakes - mainly when out of public view & a bit more 'relaxed' when watching TV etc, but also during body memory episodes - daily for many months now. The official diagnosis is C-PTSD in my case & I'm early 50's. Hope you get some respite as time passes.
