Hey people,

Hmmmm. Usually I have a pretty good idea what I want to say in response to a post, but this time you've floored me.

I can't tell you how moved and humbled I am. Thanks so much for your comments here, but especially thanks to everyone for making this place such an amazing community of fellowship and healing.

A lot of you weren't around in May 2005 when I showed up here as a scared and very shy survivor with devastating self-esteem problems and unable to talk because I still thought - like I did when I was a boy - that no one would believe me.

That night after the first time I came here and saw I wasn't alone, I bet I cried for an hour. So many guys (I can't begin to name them all) helped me back then, and yeah, they still pick me up from time to time. Whatever progress I have made in the past 18 months owes so much to them and I will always be grateful. I feel like all I'm really doing now is "paying it forward".

It's not down to one person of course, and I have to say that whatever I do here is encouraged and guided by the wonderful people we have behind the scenes working in admin and as mods. Believe me, it isn't easy, and you just wouldn't imagine the time that MS takes out of their own busy lives. They're the ones who deserve the credit for creating the framework for what we are all able to do here together.

"When it is all said and done we have the opportunity to do great things and we are all capable. Great things, in my mind, does not line up with societies belief of achievment. I have read multiple post here where guys have helped others while they relentlessly work on their abuse issues. It is amazing that we have the capacity to find the strength to come out of our anger, feelings of helplessness, depression and anxiety and still find the time and energy to help others. This site is evidence of that helping spirit. Daily, guys like Larry and many others answer questions, they take the time out of their day and night to help others with nothing expected in return. That is something you don't find every day, atleast I don't see it very often in the real world. Most people are looking out for themselves, not others.

We should be proud of ourselves, I know I am proud of all of us."

Yes I would also like to add my thanks to Larry. I remember when he showed up here. Like he said a real mess. Like most of us. He has given of himself from that first day. Shown love, respect, and let that golden heart of his shine like a beacon for all to see. So Thanks Larry.

For me personaly: Thank you for "hearing" me in times of trouble. Not everyone has that ability to really hear instead of just pretending to liston. Cause sometimes thats all it takes, just to know you were heard.
