Happiness More or less It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know just where I am
But how many corners do I have to turn? How many times do I have to learn All the love I have is in my mind?
But I'm a lucky man With fire in my hands
Happiness Something in my own place I'm stood here naked Smiling, I feel no disgrace With who I am
Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know just who I am
But how many corners do I have to turn? How many times do I have to learn All the love I have is in my mind?
I hope you understand I hope you understand
Gotta love that'll never die
Happiness More or less It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Oh, my, my
Gotta love that'll never die Gotta love that'll never die No, no I'm a lucky man
It's just a change in me Something in my liberty It's just a change in me Something in my liberty It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Oh, my, my It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Oh, my, my
'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free 'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be, And when we find ourselves in the place just right, 'Twill be in the valley of love and delight. When true simplicity is gain'd, To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd, To turn, turn will be our delight, Till by turning, turning we come 'round right
Here is a shorter version sung by the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles. Equally inspiring!

Ok here is something very exotic, it is pop song from USSSR, actually from one music movie if I remember well, so something from another universe. Song is called Wild Swans and performed by great singer from those times.

I believe I can tell you're feeling lost Wondering round without a clue The road you will cross Take my hand I'll lead you
Now, I don't know it all But if you fall I'll be there for you The things that you can be Are there for us to see
I believe in you (I believe in you) I believe in all the things that you do (All the things you do) I believe in you (I believe in you) I believe
I've seen you and your battle scars Caught up in these rattling chains I wonder how you are Inside this so called fame
I wanna fill your empty shell Free you from the spell Throw away the blame
I'm gonna set your soul at ease Thaw you from the freeze
I believe in you (I believe in you) I believe in all the things that you do (All the things you do) I believe in you (I believe in you) I believe
We're travelling full speed We got all that we need Let's go out on that ride
It's time for you and me And all that we can be
I believe in you I believe in all the things that you do I believe in you (I believe in you) I believe in all the things that you do (All the things you do) I can tell you're feeling lost (I believe in you) (I believe, I believe in you) I believe in you (All the things you do) (I believe, I believe in you) Yes, I do I can tell you're feeling lost (I believe in you) (I believe, I believe in you) I believe in you (All the things you do) (I believe, I believe in you) Yes, I do I believe (I believe in you) (I believe, I believe in you) I believe in you I believe in you

(the writer/singer is a survivor of physical abuse, and a lot of his songs deal with those themes)
YOU WERE COOL
. . .
people were mean to you but i always thought you were cool clicking down the concrete hallways in your spiked heels back in high school
it's good to be young but let's not kid ourselves it's better to pass on through those years and come out the other side with our hearts still beating having stared down demons come back breathing
. . .
you deserved better than you got someone's got to say it sometime because it's true people should have told you you were awesome instead of taking advantage of you I hope you love you life like I love mine I hope the painful memories only flex their power over you a little of the time
we held on to hope of better days coming and when we did we were right i hope the people who did you wrong have trouble sleeping at night

Here is Frédéric Chopin's: Nocturne op.9 no.1 I found about it on one web page with links to music that can tune our minds, bring us peace and focus. I love it They say it is one of the most beautiful short pieces...

guitar geniuses: - tony iommi - adrian belew - jeff beck - john mclaughlin - david gilmour - frank zappa - kim simmonds - jimi hendrix - ulrich roth - robin trower - eric clapton
creating sublime moods with innovative guitar styles.
these are some of my favourite blues/rock songs.

spending a lot of time checking out what inspires others. love this topic, excellent emotions, powerful positive songs. some i have never heard or heard of before.
here is another beautiful masterpiece for you all, courtesy of sir reginald dwight.
STUDIO:
CONCERT:
i remember seeing this live on the yellow brick road tour when i was about 12 or 13 years old. it blew me away. it was the first BIG concert i ever went to. i was hooked. i decided to become a professional musician right then and there, but it took many years to reach that goal.
decades later, i had the honour of working as stagehand on 3 elton john shows, but i never really liked any of his songs after bernie taupin left.

well here i am - back again for some inspiration. really need it this time.
thank you everyone for all these wonderful feel good songs.
here is my latest contribution.
this song always lifts me up, when i feel down.
haunting melody... soaring chorus... beautiful voice... pure genius
thank you so much to the person who started this topic. for helping me rediscover my deep love of music. i had somehow forgotten what got me into the music business in the first place. i started as a listener. i became a composer and performer, then a producer, and finally nothing but a mercenary technician. i lost the listener somewhere along the way.
may god bless you all, my fellow survivors. we are brothers in arms.

i hope nobody is upset that i am posting so many songs. but i really want to share another meaningful melody with you.
this is a tear jerker for me, it makes me cry every time but i keep coming back for more. i even learned the guitar part. i use music like a key to unlock emotions.
one of the proudest moments in my career was working with joan baez. i could not believe she was still touring, and i pulled every string i had to get on this show. it was an outdoor concert, in a lovely park, on a beautiful evening. everything was perfect. i broke all the rules to get close enough to her in the wings to actually have a conversation with her. i even confessed that she was one of my idols. this is very unprofessional but it was one of those now-or-never, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities i could not pass up. she was very gracious and down to earth. one of those golden moments.

LIVE:
believe it or not... i was in a punk metal band, and we did a killer hardcore version of this song. (at least i thought so) we certainly raised a few eyebrows.

it's all too beautiful!
who needs drugs? this song gives me an "immaculate high". way back in 1971, the first time i heard it, when i was about 10 years old, i experienced goose-bumps. it freaked me out, because no song had ever done that before. i think it was the swirly phase-shifter effect that triggered it. my mom's boyfriend, told me that sensation was called a "rush".
not many songs can do that to me.
