I'm debating signing up and going to this event. Others here seem to have gotten so much out of them. The only canadian stop i can see is 6 months away. I'm not currently working due to my recent ( relative term anything up to 9 months ago is "the other day" to me) hospitalization. I'm wondering if any former atendees could share how long through their healing process they thought attending one of these workshop/group sessions would have been most effective. Would it be chronologically difeerent for each of us yet very close at a certain rung on the healing ladder?

I started my healing/recovery/whatever in Jan/Feb of 08. Went to WoR in Oct 08. Was good all around.
I think it would be very different for me to go to one now than then. I've dealt with a lot more so I think the benefit now would be far less than when I was first starting with the whole mess.

Hi Treehugger,
My recovery started, rather involuntarily in March 2008. By the Fall I was in it neck deep, and making decisions about how I would approach this. I was given the opportunity to attend my first WoR when it was in Stoufville, about a 50 minute drive from my home. It was the best thing I could have done for myself at that time. I was feeling pretty isolated in my recovery, and meeting the other guys was enormously helpful to me in really understanding for the first time that I was no longer alone. If you can manage it, I would suggest that you attend. And if cost is an issue, subsidies are available.
Hope this helps.
Jim

With the weather we've been having this week in southern Ontario, it seems like July is just around the corner! YAY! Jim
