... Hell I only have one rifle but wouldn't mind having maybe two more and a handgun or something. I just find that shooting a half inch steel plate at 100yards with a 1943 Mosin Nagant that fires a big ass bullet (7.62x54mmR), and kicks like a mule is f**kin awesome!!! It's a lot of fun but I'm always safe about it. Like uber safe. Like "it's always loaded even if it's not"
I was just wondering if there's other survivors out there who like to go shooting/trust themselves with a firearm.
I always wanted to own one since I was a kid and now I have one.
Me and my inner child have succeeded.

I REALLY don't know why we let ourselves fall into any qualification category like that. Don't do that to yourself. There's NO reason to not trust yourself because of being a survivor. You want to NOT trust yourself if yer honest with yourself and know you are not responsible.


But yeah...me too since I was 6. Dad gave me my first .22 at 6. I grew up with safety course after safety course..then police training, then govt training, then more police training...I have a stack of training certificates a mile thick. IMO....TRAINING is a must and NO ONE should adopt a gun until they take FORMAL training.

OK...Seriousness aside:

I think I'll stick to the mosin for now. Maybe an AR one day.
It's a fun, safe hobby though and a great way to blow off steam.
And the whole trusting yourself thing was probably just negative self-talk seeping out.
My next one will be a Mauser k98k or a Tokarev SVT-40. The latter being more convenient as it would share ammo with my current rifle.
