Just spent some time with an old college friend who shared that his sister had been abused sexually early on in life by her grandfather.

My friend lives far away his sister-she has struged with abusive relationships, drinking, depression and the disbelief of her parents that his happened.

What resources can I direct my friend, her brother, to? The abuse was 45 years ago and his ability to be there for his sister (she lives 5000 miles away).

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Of course there is the usual list...but...

Two books that I think might prove usefull to this specific situation...are:

1. "The Betrayal Bond" by Patrick Carnes, Ph. D

2. "Legacy of the Heart" by Wayne Muller

3. "Boundaries" by Anne Katherine

(also i have never read "Toxic Parents" but it seems like it also might help in dealing with the disbelief issue).
