Maybe with all the Influx and all the recent news.... maybe it's time again to see if there is or if there is interest in a support group of some sort in Central PA?
Like my info says, I'm in the "greater harrisbug PA" area. About an hour or so north actually.

There surely are enough people all over, getting them to open up is the hard part!
I work over near Bucknell, so only hour or so travel!
Anyone else out there looking and reading but not posting yet??? (Yes I'm talking to all your lurkers out there!) :-)
PM me if your unsure/insecure/or just not ready to be open in the forums!

Hi Scott & RollerCoaster,
I have a thread here called "Eastern PA/NJ Group". I'm starting a group here in Doylestown, PA. I'm not sure how far it is for you, but so far I have about 7 people interested. I'm close to securing a location, and I have an article coming out in the papers and online this Thursday, 2-8-12 to publicize the group. If it's not too big a haul, perhaps you'd like to join us. I'm guessing it will be another 2-3 weeks or so until our first meeting.
Paul

Have a meeting tomorrow at 3:30 (was supposed to be today) with the local Crisis center!!!
Specific topic and discussion will be about getting services and support groups setup for Men, as currently all they have aside from referring men to local counselors for 1 on 1... is a group for men who "are on the abusive side of domestic violence."
So Maybe Maybe things are looking up!!!!!

Still looking to see about getting things going in my area.
I work right near Bucknell university, but a little travel isn't out of the question.
So if there are people in my area looking, let me know!
I'm working with a local crisis center, but I'm either being fed a line of BS about their interest in getting a group going, or they're just SLOW on doing anything. I'm not 100% confident on which is the correct one yet.
But if I get enough interest (heck 2 or 3 others than myself would be MORE than enough to get something going), we'll push hard and do something even on our own if we have to. I have some experience in running a group specifically targeted on healing from abuse of all types.

Would be a long trip, but I do meet up with other on occasions when they are nearby. I'm about an hour or so north of Harrisburg. It's a ghost town out here in terms of support for men in any way, shape or form.
You can see above that I had a meeting near a year ago with my local center... guess how much has been accomplished since then.... Not a damn thing. Was all lip service. They don't give a shit but were ALL to HAPPY to receive their share of the money from everything that came out of Penn State.
