I just got another test result back--which I was not expecting as I thought I had them all--and it came back positive. I don't know what to do.

TW I have a saying that might apply One disaster at a time. There are many drugs available to help. Please call on us for emotional support. The test results can be very devastating. Bill and Don took it very hard when they got their test results but that was the worst past of their battle. Once the guessing was over and we developed a battle plan, things improved greatly. Please don't be a stranger we want to help. Your brother Mike

TW,
Knowing is better than NOT knowing. Once you know, you know which tool box to break open and what tools to use. As the others have pointed out here, there are meds and treatments to manage things like this.
I know shame is damned difficult to work past - sis and I had to test out as well, we both came back positive for HSV. It's better, in the long run, for yourself, and anyone you might decide to get involved with - if you know already. This way you can manage your symptoms, manage the illness, and possibly prevent the long-term complications that can come from an unmanaged illness of this nature.
It took a lot of strength to seek out and do the testing, bro. You should be proud of yourself for doing that! Take care of you, and follow up with the proffessionals and treatments as they may come.

TW16 Better late then never I guess, so here goes. You don't say what you tested positive for, so I would suggest in the interim that you get re-tested. I know that it was really hard going in the first place, but this is really important. A friend of mine tested positive for an STD a while ago, and he had been celibate for years. It turned out it was a false positive. But until he had verifying tests done, it was terrifying. Get re-tested, and make sure the tests are correct. In the meantime, take care of yourself, and don't forget to breathe. Jim
