Humans have very interesting actions and reactions to threats toward their status-quo. Dr Gartner's recent Forbes article does a grand job illustrating one take on the motivation.
So, many of us have observed the perps as individuals who drop to the floor when caught, have to be dragged kicking and screaming and elaborate lies and BS spew from their mouths.
With institutions and organizations (all the way up to societies), we see the same self-centered panicked behavior, but this scenario enjoys an imaginary fortress...the fortress of the crowd...the fortress of numbers...the fortress of evil. It may be an imaginary fortress, but its effectively quite real. Just look at how the Lions Club dug-in. They've recused and past the hot potato so well, no one even knows where it is.
For we the victims, we need to turn the frustration and rage their abhorrent behavior and attitudes cause, into cannon-fire at their fortress - we need to take-down their institution. We need to drag the individuals out onto the pavement (maybe literally) and deal with them as individuals.
I honestly believe we need to shame, shun and destroy ANY institution that harbors, or enables perps. We need to do the same to any incompetence of the institution where children are involved. This country needs a righteous and devastating slap across its face to finally do something about CSA. The normals, the untouched, the happy and the oblivious need a wake-up call they will never be able to turn-away from.
The allied forces had to do this very thing with the German people who "had no idea what these camps were all about." The oblivious masses in State College need it now and hopefully it happens.
Catholics had their world rocked, and now those who remain are arrogantly in support of the perps and uncaring (at best) for the victims. Those who remain will not even condemn The Catholic League President who so viciously attacked the victims.
