As a female companion to a victim I have despartly sought information on keeping myself sane while offering support to my friend. Is there a group for companions? If not could one be started?

There is no doubt that supporters.., NEED support. As a survivor of sexual and physical abuse, and the husband of a sexual abuse victim, our dual-abuse family suffers from a flurry of misunderstandings and misspoken words.

The Round Table is a peer group, started by a member, and, through the proper channels, given permission by MaleSurvivor to offer support. When I desired to start the Round Table, I asked the Moderator's for permission and ground rules, and they willingly offered all the information I needed.

Excellent Mike,

CSA is all consuming until recovery, and then recovery of CSA and all sexual abuse can be consuming.
Good to see you focus on family, however, make sure you are stable, and self cared for through this temporary experience.

We need a guest speaker on progress, something akin to the recent media coverage concerning male survivors. Would anyone like to volunteer Monday,in the Round Table, for about 30 minutes, to share their story of opening up to the public about their abuse and recovery?
