I am looking to start a support group for male survivors in the Rhode Island area. If anyone is interested please let me know. I'll be trying to find a location once I even get one other guy who is interested.

I'm very happy to report that two guys have contacted me to join a Rhode Island group. Anyone else who is interested please let me know. I'm trying to find a place to meet now.

We still have three getting ready to kick this group off. All three of us are nervous but excited at the same time. If anyone is feeling the same and is interested in joining us let us know via a post.

All I can say is well done, it takes guts to start a group. Group is in my mind the most healing of the therapies, so keep up the good work, and hey it is a group of peers, so no need to be nervous.

The three of us met for the first time last night and I think I can speak for all of us that it was a privilege to meet our brothers face to face.

Anyone in the RI area that would like to join us please let me know. It's scary but so good.

We are all meeting again Tuesday evening and we may have some more guys that will be joining the group. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in joining. We might meet our max of 8 guys soon...so hurry!!!!

The Rhode Island Group met last night and we'll be meeting on Tuesday's at 6 pm for about 90 minutes. For the time being we have a therapist involved who is experienced in CSA.

The meeting last night went really well and I believe we are on our way to having a really good group. If you are looking at this post you are probably considering joing a group...so just say hi.

We held our second meeting last night and it went very well. I think we are all finding great support in being able to open up to each other and speak and listen about some of the same sort of things we all face as brothers. The invitation is open to anyone who would like to join us.

I am inCt, but desperate for some shared experiences? Anyway it could afford me as a potential new member?

I would really like to attend, but I'm scared shitless. To get to RI, it's at least an hour, how far are you in relation to Providence?
That and Newport , plus Block Island are my only reference points.?

I know that Ryan got in touch with you and gave you the contact info for the therapist helping us. We definitely have room. I actually work in Newport and it takes me about 40 minutes to get to Warwick.

Being scared is absolutely understandable but it doesn't last long at all.

Where from CT are you coming from?

The RI group has been meeting for a while now and we are all feeling good about it. We have a therapist involved who is donating his time and office space. We meet on Tuesday's at 6pm in Warwick, RI and we have room.

Please let us know if you are interested in joining. The 3 of us that make up the group are really find it helpful and we'd love for others to have the same feeling.

I thought I would take some time to update everyone on our little RI group. While we are still only 3 in size we have all found the group to be so beneficial. A place to share anything we want to share with the voluntary assistance of a great therapist. I encourage anyone interested in joining our group to take the first step and simply post.

I hope you guys continue this group. My ex would have been fortunate to have been in a group like this. To learn coping skills other than the porn and cheating.

I learned so much in that relationship. I learned how tolerant I was, how in love I was and how I enabled him and allowed him to hurt me again and again...

Keep up the good work and I know it is HARD WORK!!

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how empowering our little RI group is. There are four of us in this group now and each one of states how we actually look forward to meeting each week. Yes, life goes on and sometimes we are not a full group but that is one of the wonderful things about this group, it is there every week and it something special we all count on.
It was scary for all of us when we started. It was both exciting and a little nerve racking when we had a new member join. The most important thing is that the four of us took the step to get the group going. So, if you are looking at this post and are at all interesed please contact Bob Grant (see the post above this one). Bob is a social worker but he is there for support. We guys own the group and talk about whatever we want. Bob is a comfort to have in the room and he is respectful and extremely knowledgable. It is a great mix of survivors meeting with a professional involved that volunteers his time and office space.

So, if you are looking at this classified and just aren't sure what to do, please call Paul or shoot me a private message. It is so worth it to meet with brothers.

Wanted to provide you all with an update on our Rhode Island group. We now have 6 members and have room for more. We are now listed on the "Find a Support Group" section of MaleSurvivor. We are the only RI group so it's easy to find. We are all finding this to be so helpful, having a group of brothers to talk with. Each new member is so brave to step in, and I think so happy to have found us.

Glad to see there is a group in RI...... I wish it could make it....Thursday night is my last work night of the week (3rd shift) and Lord knows I need my beauty sleep.... If u ever change the day to fri or sat let me know....
