Time stops for no man.
Tyr, the anniversaries of things like this are godsAWFUL hard. I know, believe me, I know. Sis and I went through this at the 9month mark, the 1year mark, the the year-and-nine months mark, and the 2year mark.
The only thing I can suggest is try not to dwell on it. It's the only thing I can think of to do when it comes up for us. Our two year mark was November 6th. And august 9th is my baby niece's birthday. Both dates are very difficult for both of us.
We usually just try to schedule 'something', some sort of event, something to keep us occupied and thinking about something 'other' than the assault. It comes out eventually, but at least for us, doing it this way allows us to not let it rule the entire day.
I can't forget it, but it allows me to gain some control over what the anniversary recollection will and will NOT do to me and my family.
Do what brings you peace, Tyr. Experiment, poke around with different hobbies, activities, etc, find something that allows you to find some measure of peace. I know it's hard. But it's possible eventually.
I hope this helps at least a little. I wish I had a better answer for you.
