The Scoop Corey Feldman says pedophilia is Hollywood's biggest problem By Courtney Hazlett watch video here: http://scoop.today.com/_news/2011/08/11/...biggest-problemCorey Feldman was one of the biggest child stars of the 1980s, and he's talking about being young and in Hollywood in an interview on ABC's special, "Underage and Famous." Feldman says that child fame can be damaging, and attributes the harm caused to kids in the business to a large, unspoken problem -- pedophilia. "I can tell you that the No. 1 problem in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia. That's the biggest problem for children in this industry. ... It's the big secret," Feldman said. "I was surrounded by [pedophiles] when I was 14 years old. ... Didn't even know it. It wasn't until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted ... till I went, Oh, my God. They were everywhere," Feldman, now 40, said. Feldman went on to assert that pedophilia contributed to the early death of his friend Corey Haim, pointing the finger at one person in Hollywood, but stopping short of naming him. "There's one person to blame in the death of Corey Haim. And that person happens to be a Hollywood mogul. And that person needs to be exposed, but, unfortunately, I can't be the one to do it," he said. The special airs Thursday night.

This is horrible. Thanks for posting it. Sooner or later, Haim's perpetrator will be named, I am sure.

There are several survivor stories here at MS that relate to abuse in Hollywood. There is graphic language in some of these stories and it could be triggering to some. So be careful if you proceed. The first one I remember is that of Jarod, who if I remember correctly was something of an orphan in the Hollywood area and got picked up by the Hollywood kiddie porn generating industry. The following links explain his story. His story is here: http://www.malesurvivor.org/board/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=76209#Post76209http://www.malesurvivor.org/board/ubbthr...76215#Post76215http://www.malesurvivor.org/board/ubbthr...0735#Post220735Also there is my own story. My family moved to Lido Island during World War II. I would pass my 4th birthday in a few months. It was in Orange County, not far from Hollywood. In the neighborhood was Newport Island and Laguna Beach. The Island was much more open then but even then there were bunches of movie stars living there. Among them was John Wayne. Another one was Billy Dove, star of the silent screen. She lived right down the street. Another one, not an actor but a producer, was Leon Schlesinger the mogul of the cartoon industry. He had two grand launches in the Bay, the Looney Tunes, and the Merry Melodies. Just down the street was a leading cartoonist, whose name I don't feel free to mention. He originated several of the favorite cartoon characters still watched today. They have been transferred to dvd medium. He had a very young son named Robert. I would guess that Leon Schlesinger had suggested he move into a house near him. (Leon Schlesinger did not participate in this activity). The cartoonist came to my mother and asked if he could watch me one day a week so that she could have the day off. She was delighted with that idea and brought me over to his house. I have reported other details in Pufferfish story part 1. I was not quite 4 year old. http://www.malesurvivor.org/board/ubbthr...2889#Post212889Thus begin my exploitation. There were 3 other young boys who were also exploited in this way. One of them was the son of a movie star, one of them was the grandson of a producer, and one was the cartoonist's own son. I was too young to know what a movie camera was, so later when I started remembering the abusive events, I remembered it as a big black box which was pointed at the bed where the children were performing. While I was there I remember him having several gay parties with lots of naked guys whooping around. It scarred me and I hid. Then the cartoonist took me to the actual studio where they were producing cartoons. Many years later I saw this studio in a cartoon and recognized it. (note: Leon Schlesinger did not participate in these activities). My family moved to a different location in August. I want to say that what went on there was very damaging to me. I was extremely young and extremely naive. I had no defenses whatsoever. Allen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Schlesinger

I hope if Feldman talks about this again, he adds whatever aftereffects the abuse had on him. It would be helpful to know symptoms of abuse - for men who know they are survivors, and men who don't yet know.

Just a guess...Joel Schumacher Brad Renfro was associated with him in The Client. It might be close to say that he "discovered" Renfro. Brad Renfro was seen in The Client, and in Sleepers. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_RenfroBrad Renfro was also a suicide victim.

Doing a little more research into past statements about Corey Haim's abuser, there is one who fits virtually every detail mentioned...Joel Schumacher. "Oh, he was just dazzling. He was so good-looking and so funny and so charming. There was no way in the world that that fantastic thirteen year-old kid's life could have turned out the way that it did. There was no clue. to me. that it was ever going to happen to him and its really tragic. And I did stay in touch with him over the years and it was really like losing a family member. It's just so sad.", Joel Schumacher shortly after Corey Haim's death The Corey's have stated Haim's abuser was in his 40's (Schumacher was 47 when Lost Boys was filmed), is a media Mogul (producer and director) and has an ongoing relationship with Feldman to this day. There are more connections and Joel Schumacher, in his own words, is a sexual outlaw. There are a couple of blogs that have also made this conection. Wow, Catfish!
You did some great research! I watched the Corey Feldmen Special and was amazed at what he told the world. HAIM's Family rejected all statements about Haims molestation. They stated Feldmen can't be trusted, and he is lying. I am sure they are trying to save face. Reality will not get in the way. This is why we do not tell our story to most people and family! Some day, we will be accepted as being abused, and not shunned.
I apprecitate Corey Feldmen for his bravery for comming out to the world. He took a big risk on his reputation, and livelyhood. This is what we have been enduring for generations. Maybe, now my friends will again reach out to me; ah, maybe not.
