Petula Clark - My Love

Just a nice, bouncy, happy tune I remember from boyhood.

Feel free to share one of yours if you like.

The earliest thing I can remember is "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head". It's from 1970, I think.

Holy Crap, efm! I got in trouble at the private church school my folks sent me to because the teacher heard me singing that song! I kid you not! Sixth grade. Good song no matter what Mrs. Charlton said!

Ha!! It was jerry Garcia singing Russian Lullaby, yea my mom was a hippy lol.

The traveling willburys also really stick out in my head, in particular Tweeter and the Monkey Man and End of the Line (my Mom used to sing end of the line to me when I was down in the dumps). I remember listening to them while running errands with my her.

"I'll sing you a song, that's not very long, but I think it's as pretty as any..."
"Put your hand in your purse, you'll never do worse, and give this poor singer a penny."

(*shrugs) I know this post seems to be about songs we heard on the radio or whatever, but this is the first song I remember..,

"If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ta0a3DFUU0Y

The song was released the year I was born and it is one of the first pieces of music that I can recall hearing. My parents were big fans of him, in part due to Lightfoot originating from my hometown I suppose.
