This statement made more than 2 years after the first reports of sexual abuse by the officer. They always protect their own, until there is no longer a way to do so. There is now at least 5 victims that have come forward... Of course when it was first disclosed they said the kid was lieing…

This reminds me of a case in my home town where every kid at the JR High knew several kids that had been abused by a local cop. Of course the kids where called liars, because cops are so much more honest than kids. Pedophiles seek out positions where they can abuse kids, and we do great injustice when we extend cops so much trust simply because of their position.

The only reason they did anything is because the referral came from the feds specifically Air Force Special Investigations unit. They are still paying him. They try to say place the blame on him alone, despite previous reports.

You're right. They are lying. They became aware in 2009 when allgegations were made against him for molesting a boy, and, as the father said, he was basically told that the young boy was lying and they did nothing more. Now they're in a panic to prosecute him.

I think some sort of investigation should be made against that police department as well for failure to conduct a thorough investgation. Obviously they protected their own.

You know what ticks me off too? He's on leave WITH PAY but should he be charged then they'll stop paying him. What?! Are you kidding me?! He shouldn't get anything! He should have been placed on a high bond to keep him in jail and/or put under house arrest and fired.

There's a man I know that was arrested in Florida for solicitation of a minor over the internet and he's under house arrest and can have no contact with his children. He lives at his place of business that he owns. At least Florida has a tougher approach to this type of crime.

You know what else has just occurred to me? They arrested him on 5/11, it's now 5/25, and they still have not formally charged him. That last news report http://www.coloradoconnection.com/news/story.aspx?id=620637
was dated 5/20, and they're still reporting the story as an on-going investigation.

If you or I were to have done something like this we'd have already been charged, arraigned, and the DA would have asked that a incredibly high bond be set because we present a flight risk! Guarantee you.

How did this one slip by? What is it about pedophiles that gives them the ability to pass a psych evaluation? I get the creepiest feeling that this CSPD knew the right words to say to pass his evaluations. He had a plan all along. It's disgusting. It's vile.

It breaks my heart to know that he gained the trust of the children and used that trust to violate them. Will they ever trust "the law" to protect them again?

I Agree with Rusty in that i think there should be an investigation of the Police Department that denied the first allegation. Had they investigated instead of blindingly protecting one of their own, they may have caught this bastard earlier, that and they wouldn't be the embarrassment that they seem to be right now, for lying and alowing this perp to continue to abuse others while still being employed as a Police Officer/ person of authority and trust!
