Do you have any of these symptoms?

. depression

. anxiety, often experienced as constant terror or a feeling of always being on the edge

. substance abuse

. sudden outbursts of anger

. difficulty in concentrating, jumping from one thought to another, or similar symptoms of inattention or impulsiveness associated with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder

. flashbacks and other symptoms associated with post traumatic stress disorder

. social anxiety disorder

. compulsive sex, a history of affairs, or sexual perversions

. violence, or engaging in sports that sanction violence, such as boxing or football

Yup. Me too. All not just some. Except substitute "dangerous sports" for "violent sports" I climb rocks, ice, mountains and travel to remote regions and sometimes sketchy places. It continues to amaze me that there are other people in the world who share this cluster of issues/problems/behaviors. Hey brothers!

+1 on dangerous sports

rock and ice climbing, downhill mountain biking, skydiving, scrambling, solo backpacking, etc etc

smile

actually i think some of these are very therapeutic for me

Yes, very therapeutic. Learning how to rock climb was the best thing I ever did as far as building self-confidence and starting to learn how to trust others. Speaking of solo backpacking, the very idea terrified me, so of course when I was 18 or 19 I decided to go alone for five days! I never could figure out how to gradually expose myself to disturbing stimuli.
