Adversityís Tides

Tsunamis of emotions overwhelm
Deep into un-wanting lands they rage
Years of internal construction destroyed
Left exposed and twisted as currents recede

Unable to perceive meanings of my observations
Stumbling in this unnatural damp and barren place
Misty eyed, Iím gathering up drowned, lifeless dreams
Searching for safe harbor to reconstruct the bits and pieces

Your poetry moves me deep within my soul. It captures a reality of myself that I am unable to put into words. I am so sad for you, knowing this place so well, that you find yourself here.

Ivan,

Iím equally touched by your kind and gentle comments and the acknowledgement that we both share a common injury. Even surrounded by those who care about me I regularly allow myself to sink into a lonely place. Honestly Iíve been in this dank space for a few days. Iím normally far more positive about where Iím at but for a too many hours I languished in this self-imposed darkness. I guess I needed to revisit things and un-healed, ignored places. It is really difficult to admit what feels like a complete failure to fix something Iíve worked so hard to rebuild. Then one perceived crises and all the work was swept away leaving behind a internal shattered landscape. Thanks Ivan, Earl
