I can only be me. I am glad to know more about MKP.

I had the honor of supporting Sam when he did his New Warrior weekend. This was my fifth staffing since my New Warrior weekend in May 2008. What I have discovered in my journey is that I can have a NON-sexual, intimate relationship with another man or men. I am in a closed men's group which meets every other Sunday for 3 hours. I can bring anything to this group and know that I will never be criticized, judged, or condemned. I am accepted, supported and blessed every time. When I staff, I push myself out of my comfort zone so that I can grow. It happens every time. The first couple of times that I staffed, I got triggered during one of the processes. Each time that happened, a couple of men, strangers, held me and comforted me while I experienced the emotions. I don't know where else I could find that kind of support.

If you are interested in knowing more about my experience or MKP in general, send me a PM or ask Sam how to reach me. I am more than willing to talk.

Grandfather,

Thank you Steve, for supporting me, and encouraging this part of the recovery journey.
Like the WoR, not attending this is like groping in the dark for an item that cannot be felt, it is life changing.
More than the WoR, and not taking anything away from this extremely necessary retreat, the NWTA I feel connects me to the non abused parts of my processes.
This connection makes possible the interaction between me, and everyone else where before there was isolation and negative thoughts.
Sam

I am interested. I am a male survivor and want to be a "warrior".

Donnie,

Check out the MKP website at mkp.org. There is a good description of the New Warrior Training Adventure on the website. If you have any questions after you read it, please get in touch with me. If I don't have the answers, I'll do my best to get them for you. My intention is to staff the Memphis NWTA April 29-May 1, 2011. Perhaps you and Sam can join me there.

I'd like to know more about this. I just contacted the organization to potentially go this weekend (Nov 30) to San Diego. It's a short flight, and my supervisor just gave me the day off.

Though after reading about some of the inititations / rites of passage, it feels threatening.

What can I expect to experience? I was the victim of schoolyard bullying by many of my classmates because I had crossed eyes and severe hearing loss. I would love to be able to bust through the anxiety that my body still carries to this day.

Anyone else have experience with this?
