Ok, I may be someone with a case of extreme logic, but something has been bothering me.

In school, a medical institution, I have seen and heard people joking about domestic abuse, and using the term gay in a very negative way. Outside of school I have seen and heard people talking about SA in a joking or flippant way.

Where in the hell is the humor in these things? I don't get it. I brought it up in class, and while I was trying to be calm and collected, everyone in the class kind of bounded on me en masse. Go figure.

I could be totally off base, but I think the "humor" could be because of the uncomfortable and/or embarrassing nature of the conversation.

...Or some people just don't take into consideration that others around them may not find humor in such things.

Just my 2 cents.
