Dear ASA survivors/brothers,

I need your help.

I would like to start a Private Message group (a buddy group) for ASA survivors for 2 reasons. The first reason is to provide a beginning venue for ASA survivors to share and discuss their unique problems and recoveries amongst themselves. The second reason is to establish a core group of ASA survivors which can then possibly be evolved into an ASA Healing Circle or ASA Forum. At that point, those who are not ASA survivors, but who would like to learn more about the unique needs and recoveries of ASA survivors, could be allowed to participate in order to better understand and assist our ASA brothers.

The first step in my proposal requires finding out which ASA survivors are willing to be part of a PM buddy group. I have met half a dozen to a dozen ASA survivors here at MS, and I'm sure there are some ASA survivors with whom I am not yet acquainted. I will need all of your support, my brothers, to begin this endeavor, which will hopefully achieve the results of a forum or HC that many of you have expressed interest in.

If you are willing to participate in the proposed ASA buddy group, please respond to this post. Alternatively, you may also PM me (TheBobcatAgain) if you wish to learn more about the PM group before joining.

If anyone has any suggestions about this proposal, please send me feedback in this post or via PM.

I fell victim to a couple "church elders" at 26....
It was suppose to be healing and God was going to use the experiance so we might reach others....?!?!?.... ya pretty messed up.
Lot of shame because of that.

Just want to offer a word of support for starting this PM buddy group. Hopefully it will be of benefit to many guys and help them feel even more at ease here among all us CSA survivors. Awesome!

Let me know if there's anything you need to help grease the skids. If it can be done and in the budget we'll give it consideration.

I just posted and lost the whole thing so I will make my second attempt short. I truly hope you get the ASA thing off and running as there is NO PLACE on the web for an adult assault survivor except here from my search.

A friend of mine told me his story years ago and I sat in utter shock. I never thought such a thing occurred in the 'male world.' There is such a need for helping men that are suffering in silent agony ashamed fearful to tell what happened. Fearful of how the world will view them, fearful no one will believe them. My friend is a mess. I want to tell him in a way that won't bring up the whole thing...about this site. I've thought of just sending his wife the site ,but I don't know if she knows!!

I would like to thank all of you who are supportive of this endeavor on behalf of all ASA survivors who feel that a specific venue would be helpful to them.

Once I have enough participants, I will start the PM group. From there, we may be able to parlay it into a healing circle, and perhaps eventually into a forum.
