Hey, I am a relatively healthy guy in my early 40's.
I was walking a not overly heavy air compressor down a hill in 100 degree heat, not breathing heavy, and the free hand, the left, from the palm came a sharp, excruciating pain. I looked at it and a blue pool was forming under the skin.
I did some researcher and while several have it, no one knows what it is.
I had done some light re-arranging, lifting some chairs and such, nothing strenuous, and then this.
Curiously, I have heard drinking diet Coke may have an effect on it, and I drank two sodas, a lemon lime and cola, store brand just a few hours before this. I do not normally drink soda.
I do not think it is hypertension, every time I go to a doctor, it always well in the normal.
Maybe nothing, just hope it is not in my brain the next time.

I'm guessing it was your blood pressure doing heavy work in hot temps it was probably very high and going up, and a weakened vessel broke. The left arm is the first feel it when the heart does something so I'm thinking that is why it happened.
Did you hammer anything with it recently? And most importantly did you consult a doctor? It may be important that it happened as you described.

I would go with that as well, Andy,
It certainly was a blood vessel, for sure. And I agree that the walking and lifting and such rose the heart rate.
I just want to know that is all it is, you know?
I do not have insurance, I cannot go to a doctor without spending 200 bucks to find out you were right, lol.

I just remembered the Mayo Clinic has a symptoms checklist that will give you some idea. I'm not sure if that sort of injury is possible to enter as its a matter of a check list and questions not entering anecdotal reports.
